6.0l 2500hd swap to 4.8l

Recommended Posts

So over a year ago I wrecked my 1500 4x4 4.8 and bent the frame. At work I got the option to buy a 2500hd with the 6.0l has a blown tranny, and motor burns oil, so now I'm going to swap out the 6.0l to the 4

8 with my new 4l60e tranny. I'm curious to the drive shafts fiting, or axles fiting over. The pickup I wrecked has blown t case, new eaten locker rear end, tranny, motor, u joints, shocks, adjustable fuel pressure, programmed, and more stuff that I don't really know. Going from the 1500 to the 2500hd I don't want to switch just the rear end if the axle shafts are different sizes because it's going to be a pain to have 2 6 bolt tires and 2 8 bolt. Just wanted to know some info about the 2500hd axle splines. The locker is 32 spline

Depending on the trucks setup, driveshaft won't fit. 60e won't fit because the crossmember is in the wrong spot. 4.8 will be strung out to move that kind of weight
