New El Camino?

Recommended Posts

I would not do one either.

I do not believe gm will.

The last I drove one, was also the last of el caminos.

a 305, converted to 3 speed..

I understand the cab of a truck being separate from the bed for sure.

there is even a super tunnel of wind enough to rot engine framing on those. super sucker of the cold bed heatsinking.

ridiculous.

real hot places must have loved them. Kept the back attached to the front.

Oh yeah, doesn't Australia still sell that Elky version by Holden? They seem to like 'em down under. IDK?

Ya the 1st picture is just a Holden, model name is Ute I think. Also the 4 door SS that hasn't been out long is just a Holden Commodore.

Not sure if an El Camino would sell these days. Maybe if someone wanted a very small truck, but actual trucks get decent gas mileage and it's not $4 a gallon in the Us anymore. Not into drifting, but a new El Camino with a V8 or even a V6 would be perfect for that since it would be light in the rear and RWD.

If the El Camino looked like the one in that link, I wouldn't consider it. I still have fond memories of my '73 El Camino SS 454. The one if the link would make me throw up.
