New York Tint Petition

Not all New York drivers are criminals - Some just enjoy the privacy, the looks, and the functionality of tint.

I just signed this petition to Andrew Cuomo: Repeal the new window tint law

Will you sign as well? Every signature helps, and if you sign *right now* it will really build momentum. Head here, then help me recruit more as well!

Thanks!

I have a little less than 70 on the fronts - its not like black paint all the way around. Just stinks that a new vehicle cant pass. if you are from NY (or not) all you have to do is e-sign by adding your name.

much thanks!

Most of the folks I see with tint in the Rochester area are either:

A) Texting while driving

B) Talking on the phone while driving

Now, you are thinking...how can I see them doing this? Because tint doesn't hide it like the fools who buy it think it does. I can still see your arm up to your head, or the glow from your screen.

In turn, this creates a hazard to others around who can't always see what that person is doing, and if they are paying attention to their surroundings. That's why the front windows are affected on all vehicles. Keeps drivers honest with other drivers. And, lets LEO see if you are breaking laws (cell phones, drugs, etc.).

One guy in the comments was wrong about the inspection deal of it. He said tint was not under mechanical or emissions. That's because NY tests SAFETY and emissions. Tint falls under the safety portion of the inspection, which includes lights, brakes, tires, suspension, wipers and now window tint.

did you sign that thing in the link or no?

Nope.

15hdriver your post makes you sound like some ignorant cop. not everyone tints their windows to hide themselves while driving.

I am pretty sure he works for GM in some capacity and is incredibly knowledgeable about the trucks so I would have to disagree with you. I feel like you might be a little biased though.

just go with their levels.

trucks get away with deep back windows, the little side rear...

plenty dark.

Now is not the time to have hidden figures in cars in america.
