Radio will NOT turn off at times

Recommended Posts

I've had my truck for almost 16 months, and last night, when I got to work, turned off the truck and the radio kept playing with the key out of the ignition and the driver's door open. I had to reinsert the key, turn it to "Run/On," and back off again 3-4 times, before it would shut off.

Anyone else?

Happens to me occasionally when I have my phone plugged in on CarPlay and usually when I'm listening to a podcast.

Seems to be the same way with mine, but I've only noticed it when listening to Pandora or my MP3s.

Happened to me a couple of times in the last 2.5 years of ownership. I've also had my backup camera not turn off when in drive about 5 times so far as well as a strange noise coming out of the speakers when I first open the door (twice now). These new fancy electronics have their upsides and downsides.

I have the opposite problem in my 2016 Sierra. In the 5 months that I've had the truck, there have been several times when I start the truck and the console is dead. No radio, no backup camera, blank screen, no sound. It stays dead until I stop the engine and restart, then it will usually come right back. Not a critical problem, unless I really want my XM radio for an all-day road trip, but irritating anyway.

Hi Chris,

I’m sorry to hear your radio isn’t shutting off when you remove the key from you ignition. Have you been to your dealer to address this? If not, let us know in a private message and we’d be happy to provide an additional layer of support.

Regards,

Anthony

Hi Mike,

We certainly don’t like hearing these sentiments, especially so early into your vehicle ownership. If you haven’t been to your dealership to address, feel free to send us a private message. We’d be more than happy to provide an extra layer of assistance.

Kindly,

Anthony
