I have a 1992 Chevrolet c1500 with the factory 5.7, and honestly, I want more. One of my family members recently bought a 2017 gmc Yukon with the 6.2 and I absolutely love that motor. my plan is to find a on of these motors at LKQ as well as the auto transmission, and wiring harness, etc. The only thing that has me hesitant in pulling the trigger is how would I run factory heat and A/C? How would I make the shift linkage work? How would I make this new wiring harness compatible with the factory gauge cluster? Things of that nature im unsure about so if anyone has any ideas let me know.

There have been a zillion resto mods where modern LS based drive trains are put in older vehicles, so all these problems have been dealt with and successfully solved. I suggest breaking it down one by one and searching online for each issue.
