Denali/LTZ Owners with HUD, Need a Favor!

Recommended Posts

I'm working on retrofitting the OEM heads up display (HUD) in my 2015 Yukon SLT. I want to confirm a couple things with the cluster visor that has the HUD cutout and the cavity in the defroster panel on the dash.

Could you do me a huge favor and pull up your cluster visor and grab some pics of its underside and the area on the dash where the HUD mounts?

The visor should be held on by clips.

If you would get pics like this:

Thanks!

I'm wondering about this, as well. Many options on my Ram and Jeep Grand Cherokee could be added simply by a hardware kit and/or a software upgrade by the dealer that could unlock the feature as it was either already installed by the factory, or a wiring harness for it was part of the original harness. I would love to add the HUD to my 2017 'Burb. I noticed that some of its features are already present (like the 5 bright red LEDs that warn when you are too close to a moving vehicle in front of you). Can this be done?

It can. I’ve successfully added it to my 2015 Yukon.

I would like to know as well

what do I need to implement this on my 2015 Suburban?

parts - plug and play?

programming after the parts?

are these vehicles already prewired?

PLEASE share the details of your success!!!

Sorry guys. Thought I had already posted. If I recall, I did a write up at tahoeyukon forum.

You’ll need a Denali cluster programmed to your specific vehicle from GTPrix (make sure the HUD is enabled) and the HUD unit. An HUD specific cluster visor and dash trim along with the switch. Our vehicles aren’t prewired, but I can make a harness.
I’d encourage you to take a look at my write up to see more details.

I will look at your write up, thanks!
do you recall an approx cost?

Makes me wonder if salvage yard bundle (hud, cluster, dash trim and switch) with custom wire harness would work?

If memory serves, I’d say around 1100.

That’s certainly an option where you could save money. You’ll have to make sure it’s the same year vehicle. Programming cost will most likely be higher since the cluster would be used.

I found the other thread after I had posted the above message...

I posted the following parts list and costs that I came up with -

any thoughts?

$350 - Denali Cluster, new [23249954]

$200 - HUD [ 23474646]

$59   - HUD Switch assembly 23193705]

$105 - Cluster Visor (with opening to accommodate HUD) [23181840]

$300 - I/P Harness - perhaps more $$

$120 - Left Air Outlet assembly (to accommodate switches)

$533 - Windshield - HUD Compatible

$300 - Programming - have no idea how close or far off I would be with this number
