No fuel from TBI double barrel

Recommended Posts

So i put in a new fuel pump, fuel filter and relay with new fuses. Fuel pump works great, theres fuel going into the TBI carburetor but than thats it. What i mean is it stops at the carb and must go back down through the return hose because the injectors dont squirt gas at all but i think that is because they arent getting any. But before i buy the complete rebuild kit i was hoping someone may shed some light on this for me. My truck wont start unless i squirt gas into the throttle cylinders and than it dies after 2-5 seconds

The ignition control module its right under the distributor. I had the same problem and it was the cause.

Thanks for the reply! I will have to look into that, my next step was to jump the B A terminals and check for any codes, if the ICM is the cause i should see a code flash right? This truck sat for a few years unused but worked good before it was parked, the original fuel pump was stuck due to varnish from old gas, i got it working again but i purchased a new one anyway since i had the tank out. Once i replaced the in line fuel filter i thought it would fire but it was a no go, i get lots of spark, i cleaned the TBI and the fuel pressure regulator and spring/bowl was extremely dirty and rusted, my plan is to check for codes, check the injectors and hopefully find the cause.

I fixed the issue. Not sure why but i took the top half of the TBI off and cleaned the injectors and what not, i was very frustrated and decided to blow compressed air into both fuel line and return lines going into the TBI, put everything back together and it fired right up. Turned it off and tried again, fired up again. Did this a couple times just to make sure. But im assuming somthing was stuck in the line so now my plan is to drop the tank again, clean out all the lines and filters just as a good safety measure and it should be good to go! I also checked for codes but there was none, just repeated code 12 a bunch of times.

Your injectors were likely just stuck. Dropping the tank again maybe unnecessary.
