To Buy, or Not to Buy?...

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm looking for opinions on an old truck that I have a lead on.

It is a '94 Silverado Cheyenne 2500 with a 7.4 engine. It has just under 340,000km.

As unlikely as it seems, I can't find any rust on it. Some chips in the paint, but no rust.

Overspray on the door gaskets leads me to believe that it has been repainted.

Funny part is that it has a GMC grill and tailgate even though everything else is Chevy.

There is a bigger gap on one side of the hood than the other and the bumper is a little bit crooked.

I am going to take it for a test drive tomorrow.

Just wondering if anyone can give me some pointers on what to look for or if you think it is worth the $2500 the guy wants for it!

I don't know much about 3/4 tons so would appreciate any tips!

I would need it to pull a bumper hitch 2 horse trailer.

Thanks!

check cab mounts for the original squishy materials.. they just die and then bang bolts around.

that engine has a quick launch to get going, but very anemic if you run a long hill.

all else is as every good truck.
