I have a 2015 2500 with the 6L and have been experiencing a shift flair from 2nd to 3rd Gear. I didn't find anything searching, anyone else experiencing this? Any known service bulletins?

Thanks

Although a 2012 2500, mine will do this from time to time...I think it has to be something with the solenoids that force the shifts. Mine does it once every month or so, and just once.

My '17 has the 2-3 shift flare too. I've got 1443 miles on it now, and it has done it since mile 7. It is really noticeable in tow mode with 5k+ behind the truck. I mentioned it to the selling dealer, but was quickly brushed off as "functions as designed" (no test drive). If I am unable to sell or trade the truck on the next month or so, I will get into the Trans Control Module and raise the 2-3 apply command pressure a little, and probably lower the shift point speed a little too. Sucks, because it is very time consuming to adjust, test, and adjust again.

Thanks for all the replys. I haven't checked the trans fluid yet. But as sdeeter described, it only does it every now and again, and never more than the once. Might have to suck it up and get the Westers tune sooner than later

HP tuners.

It's on hold for now though. The brakes on my truck are so terrible, that I don't dare give the service department an "out" by seeing a reflashed tcm. The shift flair has not been too bad when I am driving for mpgs. If I keep the rpm under 2k while accelerating, I can up my 10 average to 12.

Monday morning, I decided to move my empty gooseneck trailer to a place where it would be ok for a while. You know, because when your HD is in the shop you leave in a LD. I ran about 10 miles stop and go (tow model, then shut down for an hour. I then headed out, in tow mode, with about 60% steady throttle. The 2-3 shift flared so high and so long that I let off the accelerator so that it could catch third. 1 mile later, the flare was not able to be replicated. 10 years ago, my Avy's 4L60E would act this way. When mentioned to service, they were quick to dismiss the issue. That trans made it to 168k, with only one fluid change, before catastrophic failure. I think the HD will be ok, it is just annoying being limited to either light accelerating or hard accelerating to avoid shift flare.

2-3 flare...my 2012 1/2 ton 6L80 did it, my 15 HD 6L90 did it, my brother's Camaro SS 6L80 does it, and guess what...my 16 Colorado 6L50 does it. Normal. All did it with perfect fluid conditions and levels. Mine would do it on a restart after running for a while, most commonly after getting gas. Fire it up, head down the road and bam 2-3 flare. Wasn't every time either.
