Recommended Posts

Whats up with that ugly front hood vent thing on chevy trucks, Damn I thought I'd seen it all but I guess the engineers thought up a way to ruin the looks on an otherwise awesome truck it Totally unattractive hope it goes away

Is it functional? Does the scoop route Into anything? The hood scoop in my Subaru routes air across an intercooler... not the best setup but very functional.

Yes it's functional, goes straight into the air box. I personally like them enough that I bought one for my 17 sierra and did a swap. I get compliments all like crazy. Each to their own.

Function > form

There is a big difference in the 2 hoods, the Chevy seems to have "sides" that direct the air. How do they remove water, looks like the Chevy parked up hill a little would direct water right down its throat. I have seen the GMC in person and it looked good in black, barely caught it so most that don't know may miss it. I do like it, sorry Mr Thread Starter, but it is just a preference and not for everyone so it's all good. I would buy one but not do all the routing stuff, I would block it off and seal it shut. Kind of like sunroofs, or screen doors on a Submarine I don't trust water, it just has a mind of its own and finds its way thru anything over time. If I ever bang my hood I would get one but I hope I never hit something bad enough to bang my hood.

Functional Cold air intake! And Id love one on my 16 gasser. They look great. Let me know if anyone wants to get rid of the one on there truck. LOL. Ill take it.

A nice cold air setup would work great on the gas engines as well. Especially if they Up the power in 18?

Shows the internal structure. No water can't get into the intake, it has a drain built in and although it's routed weird because of the motor, it works extremely well.

Although mine is green, you get the idea.
