All,

I have a 2015 Suburban LT with just over 40k miles, with a couple of issues - all of which have TSBs.

  • The steering wheel pops when turning. I have been told that to fix this issue will require the replacement of the steering column;
  • the driver seat is literally a pain in my rear. From reading other forum posts, I believe this is probably a seat sensor; and
  • the driver seat rocks/pops/moves when I turn.

The Chevy service department I visited said that I had two options:

  1. Pay big dollars to fix it, or
  2. live with it.

At this point I am really regretting my purchase. It seems to me that for a vehicle that costs nearly $70k new, one should be able to expect more. Now, I am wishing that I hadn't moved on from my 2005 Suburban.

I would appreciate advice on working my way through a customer service complaint, and how to get this issue resolved.

Thank you!

Find another dealer. If the vehicle is still under warranty (which it should be) then Chevy has to fix the issues you listed. That dealer is giving you the runaround.

He said 40k miles. He's on his own dime now.

TSB doesnt mean free fix. It is an assistance to the tech to help them fix the issue when a customer reports the symptom. Under warranty is free. After that it only potentially saves you money as the tech has a reference to find a fix quicker.

I thought the 2015 full-zise SUVs were 5 years/50,000 mile B2B? Then GM changed back to 36/36000 in 2016? That's why I replied that he should still be covered.

Bumper to bumper has always been 3/36. Powertrain was 100k miles which changed to 60k miles on the 16.

OP, get rid of it before your problems get any bigger. Eventually, your condenser will fail just like everyone else. Your radiator will start leaking. And you will need new lifters because of the Active Fuel Management (dealer has already told me to start saving because it will happen. Cost = $2,000.00).

GM will offer you no assistance on any of these issues.

Not to pile on, but I've also had the same driver's side clicking issue, and actually had it fixed under warranty. But it's back again, and I'm at 37K miles.

Any idea if Chevrolet will honor a warranty fix and address the issue recurrence as a warranty fix?

How did they fix your clicking issue?  I have it on my silverado.

Original fix they installed “something” to help secure it, I believe. From my post about it recurring, I’ve not noticed it as much and haven’t really thought about it. Not sure if subconsciously I’m ignoring it or if it rectified itself.

I know this is not a very helpful reply...sorry.

Do you have any photos or a write up from the service dept?

Can't speak to the OP's other two issues, but I was able to fix the seat "pop/click" issue myself for about $5 in parts at Home depot.  Bought two 1" hose clamps and some rubber to line the inside of it with and attached to either side the metal bar under the driver's seat.  Been driving around with that "fix" for about 2K miles now and hasn't popped once since -- was previously happening multiple times each drive.
