Migmc
Kind of a dumb question. Does anyone know ic motor mounts for a 97 are rg of left specific ? And if there pug on wrong side would it chane engine location movinv it more forward? Git new motor in and the trans bell housing isnt even close to block.never had this happen before. Wondering if mounts are in wrong side makung motor sit a little farther forward?
barry G
should be symmetrical. old rubber inside the shell can move the engine to a new spot.. but it would have to be in real bad shape. can you get some bolts started on the bellhousing? maybe go long on a pair.. one on each side..to see if you can bring it together. or you could go ape like I have done and just wiggle the hell out of the motor..little crowbars and stuff. I remember putting a 350 where a 250 I-6 was (chevelle), triggered a memory. Had to wrestle with half inches...otherwise declared the same. tranny mounts broke at fore and aft is obvious, easy to rule out a problem there. thx1138v2
Yes, they are right/left specific and yes they would change the engine location if reversed because the mounting holes are offset from the center. Take a look at the following link and click the small pictures on the right side of the Anchor 3028 and 3044 mounts. http://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/gmc,1997,c1500+pickup,4.3l+v6,1144280,engine,motor+mount,5552 You didn't state the frame or engine so the link shows C1500, 4.3L. Select the proper ones and look at the mounts there under Engine to determine your particular setup..
