Tahoe Pricing

Recommended Posts

I'm debating on trading my 2016 gmc all terrain for a 2017 Tahoe LT. It seems like there's not as much wiggle room on the tahoe as a pickup?? I purchased my all terrain last year during the 20% off msrp sale. I've also heard others say they have got 20% off msrp at most any time of the year...The particular Tahoe I'm looking at has a bonus tag 10% off msrp and that's pretty much all they are taking off. So for those who claim 20% off msrp is the measurement of a good deal, does that apply in this case at this time on a 2017 tahoe. Is it not a good deal, if they won't do 20% off msrp?

I've bought numerous vehicles the last 12 years from this dealership and have always been satisfied. Ive never bought anything but a truck. So, trying to figure if there's a difference in buying a truck vs tahoe or something else is up...

Analysts all say the new auto market is tanking and manufacturers will need to offer deeper discounts. Depends on how much faith you want to put in that. Generally, Hoes and Burbs don't seem to get as steep discounts.

I purchased a 2017 Tahoe LT the first weekend of March. Got right at 20% off plus 0% through GM Financial. Had $4300 in GM Card earnings on top of that. Also had a trade, which is not in these numbers.

Was it pretty tough negotiations to get 20% off?

Had it advertised about 17%. Claimed that was the best they could do. Found another with similar MSRP that happened to be at their sister store 30 minutes away at 20%. They matched once I referenced that. Had to drive 4 hrs one way for it. Dealers around me wouldn't get close. Did all negotiations over email, including trade valuation. Showed up, test drove, signed paperwork, drove away.

I'm gonna put a call in to a big city/volume dealer and see what type deal they can offer. As stated in my OP, I've bought multiple vehicles from my small town local dealer over the years. Guess I'll find out if I've been missing out on anything...
