Cant Do BurnOut In New Truck

Recommended Posts

This is depressing, you can buy houses for the price of these trucks..apparently somebody doesn't value money spent. If you really want to show off, put it in park on the highway.

huh? lol you must not live anywhere worth value as far as real estate goes.

Probably the strongest reason I only buy new vehicles and for the record I have absolutely no problem with anyone's treatment of their own vehicles. If your idea of fun is bouncing a 4 pound hammer on the hood of your vehicles, have at it. I could care less. What does bother me is when people choose to abuse a vehicle they do not own and I have seen this on many work sites where we all drive company vehicles and some people do their best to break them.

Why I have only bought new since 94.

Once the diesel craze took hold; it wasn't safe to buy a used diesel because inevitably someone put the largest programmer on it, put a K&N in it, beat the living snot out of it, pulled the programmer and filter to resell and the next buyer ended up with a cooked turbo, dropped valve seats, dusted engine, toasted trans, etc., etc., etc....and that's slipping into the gas arena now.

I like to buy vehicles that have less than 3 miles on them when I test drive. Forget about demo's, rentals or leftovers with 50 or more miles. All these vehicles are either factory lemons (leftover with high relative mileage) or have had been beaten like a red headed stepchild. Used vehicles (trucks) from older mature men usually have been treated with a little care. Used vehicles (trucks) from 20 somethings generally have been beaten to within an inch of it life. I know that is stereotyping but without some kind of proof I doubt I would be very trusting of a young guy selling a "excellent condition" vehicle.

Probably true for 95% of trucks, However I think it's fairly easy to spot a good used vehicle if you look it over completely. I bought a 2005 Duramax with 50k on it from an older gentleman who had complete service records from the dealer, garage kept, and still had factory paint inside the receiver hitch. I had no doubt in my mind I was buying a good truck.

Now I have an 8 month old Duramax that will get sold after 3 years, and if anyone came to look at it there would be no doubt how it was treated once they walked into my shop. heck it's only been rained on twice when I was at the lake and didn't have a garage to put it in. (Im one of those 20 something's that has worked my ass of to have nice stuff and I'm keeping it that way lol)

Good used well taken care of trucks are out there it just takes a lot of patience to find them.
