Wife Nailed Me

Wife decided to run into my truck yesterday morning. She wasn't watching her right side pulling out of garage and nailed my driver side rear door. I normally park in garage, however this time I was just in drive way as I expected to leave before her. I heard it from kitchen and I literally just bit my tongue. She thought I was going to lose it. LOL.

It's a truck and damn things been hit so many times.

Repairs are $1500--going to need a new rear door. Her car is $750 and it's all paint work--not a single dent (2016 Mazda CX-5).

Doesn't the CX-5 have proximity sensors for collision avoidance?

I guess I'm lucky that mine only runs over the garbage bags, then drags and spreads it all over the city. I keep my vehicles clear from where she's going to be, in fact I keep them in a separate driveway. Good habit I took when I had the Corvettes.

Apparently not--she has Grand Touring and it only has side firing radar for cross traffic and backup camera. Which at the angle she hit, camera was useless.

Statistics don't lie, most accidents happen close to home. A little to close this time though.

aint a truck till its got some scratches and dents, right?

That is a little more severe then a simple scratch or dent imo. What ever you do don't use your insurance or you will be paying thousands in fee increases for years to come.

I did take it to body shop and it's $1500 on my door and $750 on her car.

We are NOT using insurance--the repair costs are not too high that we can just pay cash and save ourselves the accident on the account.

Last thing I want is an insurance price increase.
