2015 Yukon condensor problem

Recommended Posts

Took my Yukon to local shop. Bad condensor they said. There are none in the country to be had. Dealer says at Dealers Meeting last week all dealers were complaining. Friends condensors just don't go up. Now I guess I have to pay for a gm part defect. York air conditioners had same problem with home units. That's why they closed their Mexican plant. New Freon particles are so small leaks are a problem. Help

Mine failed last month. Every person I know that owns of of these pieces of crap has failed. Part on national back order. One dealer had 11 cars down waiting for parts. Told me good luck finding one. All of the aftermarket supplies have dried up too. GM puts faulty parts on a car and then does not have parts available to fix it.

If you are reading this before purchasing one of these vehicles, don't do it if you are reading this after purchasing one of these vehicles, I am sorry. If you are here because your condenser has failed liked everyone else, good luck finding a replacement part. Also, do not bother contacting GM. They are rude and act like they have never heard about these faulty parts. They will offer you absolutely no assistance. I contacted them asking them to pay for half the repair since the part is faulty. They would not assist in any way.

I already knew these parts were faulty. Theee of my friends had already failed and numerous other strangers I have ran into have said theirs failed as well. I met a mechanic that own many of these trucks that warned me they all eventually fail in the exact same spot and that the part is faulty.

I just had mine replaced under warranty. Same story none in the whole country, several trucks ahead of me. Also this year had the weeping radiator with same issue fatigue at a seam and it failed. So now a new radiator and new condensor on a 2 yr old truck! Smooth straight roads no off roading or otherwise. Ridiculous. I have owned GM trucks for over 20 years some with very high miles, ice cold air never an issue. This new platform is a mess. They dont do quality control on anything anymore. Their version of QC is throw it out there and see what comes back.

In one year I have had the torque converter replaced, trans stator shaft repair, new seat track, radiator, condenser, floorboard sensor, 7 tires for vibrations, and a handful of other crap.

My car only has 41000 miles, and my condenser went out ? And I just got out of warranty a few weeks ago. I drive all day for work bc I'm in sales. So having to be in a hot car/office all day is terrible.

I am very disappointed after reading that many many people are all having the same problem. GM really needs to step up their game in helping customers fix this problem. In a vehicle with such low miles, I should not have to be spending $1000 to fix an major issue everyone is having.

Other than being concerned with how long my car will last and when the next thing may break, I have been very happy with my car. But now I'm going to constantly worry about what I'll have to fix next.

I have owned two fords, a Nissan, and a Jeep. And never had any withers with any of them until well after 100,000 miles.

Right now I am not a fan of GMs quality.
