Ticking noise from wheel.

Recommended Posts

Went riding in Ocala and it was about 5 miles of dirt road VERY BUMPY! After that I have noticed at low speeds or driving at night I hear a ticking noise at a roll. It sounds almost like I caught a nail or screw but I have checked all 4 tires and got rid of any rocks, pebbles, etc. and I am still noticing the noise. Any input? thanks.

Just a thought, I once had a stick on wheel weight rub the brake caliper after the tires were balanced. Had a noticeable ticking at slow speeds untill it ripped it off.

u joint?

The noise isn't coming from where the U joint is located. I have actually noticed it more when braking at low speeds or turning at low speeds...I need to go to a parking lot tonight when not a lot of traffic/noise is going on so I can diagnose it better.

I had a similar issue with my avalanche. It was on one of the rear parking brake assemblies. The shoe had failed and a piece was rubbing the rotor from the inside near the hub.
