2016 Silverado 2500HD new wheels/tires/RC kit/etc

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I have taken so many idea's and insight's from those here on the site and weaved them into my own little project a 2016 Silverado 2500HD Custom.

Here's an update of the mods completed so far:

- Rough Country 3.5" lift/level kit

- XD Buck wheels 20 x 9 +0 offset

- Nitto Ridge Grapplers 295/55/20

- Front window tinting 20% sides/5% eyebrow

- GM exhaust tip

- Chevrolet Black bowtie emblems front and rear

- Chevrolet red caliper covers

- BedRug bed liner

- Aftermarket Tonneau cover

- Custom pinstripe

- Black color matched door handles

- Black aftermarket OE style running boards

- Black APS tranny cover opening grille insert

- Black AVS window vent shades

Next up:

- Magnaflow 12909 muffler

- Bushwhacker flares (maybe, like it "as-is" too)

- ???

Hope you like the photo's.

Disclaimer: I'm not quite sure if I'm completely happy with the way the tires fill the fender wells and may address that at some point but will drive it "as-is" for now.

Otherwise the wheels are tires fit and look great no rubbing or scrubbing and no trimming at all.

hows the ride on the Rough Country 3.5" lift/level kit? I'm thinking of doing the same one.

Same or slightly better then stock in my opinion, I think the new shocks with the kit may be why, no more Rancho's. But in fairness they were only on the truck for about 1500 miles. That might not have been enough time for everything to break in completely.

I'm happy with the results but to do it again I might have gone for the 4"-6" Zone kit instead (50/50), especially if you want 35's on a rim with +0 to -24 offset. The set up I now have is probably perfect as a daily driver which is how I use my truck.

Looks great man. Your tires are flush right

What don't you like about how the tires fill your wells? You run under any extreme bumps or turns?

Thank you for the compliments.

I guess I'm over thinking things a bit again, took me 3 months to settle on which set of wheels. LOL

Update: I swapped the muffler over to the Magnaflow #12909 today.

Local Muffler shop charged me $236 installed OTD tax included.

They welded it in and had it completed in 30 minutes, he said it was pretty straight forward and he didn't need to add any extra pipe, it fit perfectly.

How's the 12909 sound? It was a straight swap huh? That's good to know! I'm gonna dump mine over the axle

I'm happy with it, its definitely a change over stock low deep rumble but not nearly as loud as I anticipated.

My wife and daughter haven't even noticed it yet which surprised me.

On a loudness scale of 1 to 10 if stock was a 3 the Magnaflow I'd give a 5 riding in the cab.

I still need to let the wife drive it and do a few passes then follow her in the car to see how it sounds to others outside of the cab of my truck.
