Rain causing speaker issues

Every time it rains, all four door speakers on my 2007 NBS Silverado quit working, however the tweeters up on the pillars continue to work. After it sits in the sun for several hours they will spontaneously work again.

 

I've researched the topic and found a few posts stating that moisture builds up in the doors causing this issue and can be fixed by replacing the speakers... However this doesn't make sense to me, how could moisture stop all four door speakers from working? Does it short out all four in a series? I just want to confirm this is the issue prior to buying new speakers

My 2006 Silverado door speakers do the same thing. I'm getting ready to replace weather stripping and installing marine speakers....

Replaced them yesterday, works perfect now rain or shine.. Instead of buying marine speakers I picked up some speaker "baffles" to help keep the water away from the speakers and wiring..
