2005 chevy 1500 trans problem

I've been working on a 2005 Chevy 1500 a friend of mine owns. He took it to aamco when he was having transmission problems and they told him he needed a new transmission. He told em where to stick it, and a week later it quit moving while in gear. So my friend asked me to change the transmission out with a reman trans. Finally got it all put back together today and still the same issue. You can hear the transmission engaging and going into gear, but regardless of if you give it gas, the drive shaft spins at maybe 1 revolution per 10 seconds. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be?

It's rwd and no transfer case. Only 2 wd

When he ask about the TC, he was referring to the torque converter.

That makes more sense. Haha. Yea it's a new torque converter
