same here. it is supposed to improve mpg in the 6.2

I've heard by spreading the range it allows the engine to perform more in the constant power band providing both low-end torque improvement while also allowing lower engine rpm in the final gearing cruising.

 

Hopefully they get the tuning sorted out sooner than they did with the 8-speed.

 

Wasn't this 10-speed engineered between Ford and GM? Thought I recalled reading that someplace.

yup, they worked on it together. 10 speed is in some of the fords right now

Well.. GM and Ford did develop the 6-Speed auto.. had a few little issues but it turned out alright.
