Hey guys. Just bought a 2013 Sierra 5.3 crew Z71 with 95k on it. Love the truck! Unfortunately I have had to add 2 quarts of oil in the last 3k miles though. Seems to idle rough too. No check engine lights. Brought it to the dealer today and they changed the oil and started an oil consumption test. The service advisor told me that all the 5.3s use alot of oil though and GM wouldn't do anything. This true? Seems like a lot of oil for a $25k truck I mean I just bought it. My 89 F250 351 with 250k doesn't use oil at all. Doesn't seem normal to me.

Thank you. I read through some of it. Sounds like they will put new piston rings on it hopefully. Why would my service guy tell me they wouldn't do anything? They are reembursed by GM right? Maybe I need to see another dealer after the oil consumption test is completed.

Thank you. I read through some of it. Sounds like they will put new piston rings on it hopefully. Why would my service guy tell me they wouldn't do anything? They are reembursed by GM right? Maybe I need to see another dealer after the oil consumption test is completed.
