Took my 2015 Chevy Silverado 5.3 4x4 with 55k miles into Chevy dealership in Yuma az on a Thursday morning , service advisor seemed to be having a slow day so hopped In my truck so I can show him the issue within a mile it occurred, seemed to be a jack hammer in the engine bay. I leave I for the day to get diagnosed and I call around 4pm and he tells me they are ordering parts the lifters were getting stuck and parts would be in Tuesday and tells me it's fine to drive the truck the four days until than . Again I asked him if the thinks that would mess something else up and he says no. So i drive it those four days and again other than that noise no loss of power or functions , long story stop I drop it off on Tuesday and given the time frame of two days. So I call on Thursday and am notified it barely runs and runs super shitty , now almost two weeks later the only thing I am left with is a loaner equinox and them telling me there's a misfire on cylinder four . That was never a problem but regardless any advice ?

My guess is an injector issue, or possibly they mixed up some lifter on the new install!

I had my injectors clean two months ago cause I've here of injector issues on these models . Never had a problem and wasn't a preexisting when I took it in . Gonna call tomorrow and demand a new engine if not completely fixed within the next week

If they installed the wrong camshaft, then there could be damage to the engine's head or piston now?

Rule of a mechanic check parts that they are similar, and have the correct part numbers for your engine!

Sounds like your being kept in the dark regarding your engine troubles.

Good luck

So I called bitching and complaining and advisor told me they replaced some lifters and vehicle would be ready in two hours , so far after us having it for about five hours of my wife driving it no problems . Hopefully none in the future either . Almost three weeks but we finally have our truck back oh and btw our first baby should have his first ride home in the Chevy Silverado ? If the truck makes it another week

So my son decided to come early and he was born yesterday after spending two days in the hospital and putting 25 miles on the truck since we got it back on Monday, check engine light turned on. Don't wanna go through all this mess again with my baby here. I can't wait until I see what the service advisor says tomorrow also his answer will decide on the surveys he'll be receiving
