Heater/AC blower motor

Recommended Posts

So I recently replaced my blower motor relay and everything was working perfect for about a week, now, nothing. It won't work at all. And when I have the A.C. on high, with recirculation engaged, the blower motor relay buzzes; Like repeatedly cycles on off. And this only happens when the blower connector is connected to the blower. So it seems to only happen when there is an electrical load on the relay. I thought it was a bad relay so I warrantied it out, put a new one, and nothing. Exact same thing. Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Sounds like the motor has failed or maybe seized.Try taking the motor cover off and giving it a rap or two with the handle end of a big screwdriver, might jar it loose. You can always remove it and connect it directly to 12v to verify it's toast.

find a ball bearing motor.

I found one on ebay.

these trucks can catch on fire on the sleeve bearings.. and never even kill the resistor or relays or fuses or wires..

it must depend on locale, like where honda civics are fabulous.

if your motor does this just once, scrap it.. don't even clean it or fight with it.

maybe keep the fan part as a spare.

My first encounter was my 79, then a 1984.. and then I was in the air force.. lots of gm.. and now my 1996.

I could not wait to do what I wanted with my own.

Check the condition of the connector,I've heard they go bad.Did you get a good quality resister?Maybe that new one is failing already.ACDelco or Delphi are OEM(IIRC).

I had to replace a failed motor a few years ago along with the HVAC controller, been running good since.

I Finally found the issue last night.. the recirculation mode door is shorted internally, causing there to be power on the ground for the whole circuit.. I disconnected it and everything started working perfectly. Guess when funds permit I will be replacing that actuator. Thank y'all for all the help!
