305/65/17? Or will I regret it!!

Recommended Posts

Looking at getting new tires for my 2014 silverado on my 17" stock rims, the truck has a 3" levelling kit up front and 2" block in the rear, now to be this guy will a 305/65/17 tire fit on my truck with minimal or no rubbing? Will be going with the amp all terrain tire, and if they won't fit will be going with 285/70/17 amp mud terrain

You should be fine diameter wise, both of those are under 33". Depending on your stock wheels offset/backspacing (I'm not familiar with the 17" stock specs), you may have rubbing issues with the UCA/sway bar if you go up to the 305's. I would check and see how much clearance you have now with your stock tires, then figure out how much wider the 305's are.

Or you can search the forums. There are a lot of posts out there.

I'm running 305/60-18" tires without rubbing. My stock wheels were perfectly offset. With steel UCAs the tires aren't a problem. But both the inside and outside clearance is very close in various areas.
