GM Intake Question

Recommended Posts

I have a 2017 5.3 I want to upgrade the intake on.

I want to go with the GM option.

I am hoping someone can tell me the difference in the parts, the version stated for 2017 is like $100 more, is that just because "new" or is something different?

2016 PN: 84016022

2017 PN: 84089441

Thank you.

I put a 2014+ K&N kit on my 2017 and had no problems. I don't see why they would have a different kit for the 2017. It is a very nice looking intake and yes don't have to worry about a dealer giving you a hard time about having an aftermarket CAI on your truck but they are way over priced in my opinion. I'd try and find a used 2014-16 one if you can.

It will work. I just did it. I have a 2017 and my local dealer actually had both (84089441 & 84016022) at their local warehouse. So they ordered both and we opened them up. IDENTICAL. 100% (except for the price.) No size difference, nothing. I just got done putting in 84016022 into my 2017 and it functions flawlessly.

They use different, higher-end packing tape to seal the cardboard box it ships in on the 2017.
