Torsion Bar Keys for Front Leveling

Recommended Posts

I have read several of the threads on this site that talk about front strut mount extension lifts, but I am looking for options and recommendation for Torsion Bar Key based leveling solutions for my 2016 GMC All Terrain 2500 HD Duramax. I was told by one off-road suspension company that with the 2" Torsion Bar lift, I can get 295/60 20 (MT) or 295/65 20 (AT) tires on may stock rims (20" Denali). From what I understand, these tires are roughly 35". On my last 2005 Sierra 2500 HD, I had BFG KO AT 285/75 16 and with the stock torsion bars cranked to their max, these ~33" still rubbed when backing up in a tight turn. Can it be true that I might be able to get ~35" under this truck with just the 2" torsion bar leveling? I am looking at SkyJacker's or SuspensionMAXX MAXXCam 5 Leveling Kits.

35's will fit no problem, don't waste your money on a leveling kit, just crank the bars up and get a allingment. Keys and leveling kit are a waste of money and do nothing.

These are 35x12.5's with just cranked bars, no rubbing.

Thanks for the replies. Do those 35's equate to 295/60 or 295/65?

Those 35's are actual 35x12.5x18's.

If you want actual tire measurements I would use tirerack as each tire is much different.

This is leveled with keys and shock extenders. The tires are 285.65.20, basically the same as a 295. You can see the clearance is very good and I never rub.nothing was done to the rear, front is not cranked up to the max. It drives just like stock.

Do you get much bump steer, or did you before aligning?
