Ok, so, this is my second new truck. last one was a 2014, this is a 2017. my 14 tried to drive itself in park and the dealer could find no issue. I immediately traded it to not have to worry( i am very mechanically capable and can troubleshoot a lot of things from cars to airplanes). the new truck is plagued by transmission shifting/driving issues. the dealer has re-flashed it twice after GM cam out with the patch to resolve this. Still drives really rough and stutters all the time from 50 to 60. they are saying they are still working another patch to fit it, but i am tired of dealing with it. I am wondering if anyone here knows how to get in touch with a regional rep as far as my dealer said they don't know who to get me in touch with. at this point, I just want them to take it back under lemon law. so frustrating as a hard core Chevy fan to have lost faith in their current trucks, i truly miss my 04!!!

Take it to another dealer, what you described isn't a lemon law issue. They need at minimum 3 attempts to fix it, sounds just like it shifts a little wonky at times and you are trying to make it some big lemon law deal. Earlier you said you were going to get a BB tune to correct it, why not do that if it doesn't shift how you think it should? Sounds like it drives fine but it lugs in a low gear under light throttle to keep it in a higher gas saving gear, that isn't a lemon law or buy back issue.

it does it most at 50 to 60. starting off it chugs like the valve body isn't sure what it wants to do. a few times a day will slowing to a stop it slams down a gear. it isn't gas, and IMO i shouldn't have to have to buy aftermarket to fix it. i will if i have to, but they have mad 2 attempts and it is no better. Point is, this is a BRAND NEW Truck. the dealer has told me directly at GM meetings the engine team is pointing fingers at the transmission team and the transmission team is pointing fingers at the engine team. the dealers are aware this is an issue, and i don,t want to deal with it constantly. i drive 80 miles a day, to feel constant shuddering is getting pretty old. I have built many cars on my own and never had these issues. GM is admitting there is an issue, but if they can not fix it, they can have the truck back.

i went through all the trans problems. firs they replaced the torque converter. then 2 weeks later the valve bodies. then 2 weeks after that I was told my trucks shifting was normal and theres no problem they didn't even know why they did the work. I brought it back again 2 weeks later threatening lawyer, buyback, lemon law etc and they took it in again and replaced the torque converter housing? or something like that. I don't think anyone knows what was actually done to my truck nor do I, but it shifts normal now.

threaten them, they have the number to the regional engineer/rep that can help you. but as said before they need to have had 3 attempts at fixing it before lemon law takes effect. take the mechanic for a ride each time you bring it there and make sure they agree somethings wrong and you drop it off.

these new trucks transmission tuning is a joke

Agreed. i have had them drive it and confirm. the third attempt is waiting on GM to patch fix again, so who knows how long that is, don't want to sit and wait on it. not to mention the other little issues so far, new exhaust, springs, ect

I've successfully sued GM under the lemon law regarding my first 2011. Was a pretty easy process once the lawyer gets involved. Your vehicle needs to go to the dealer for the same reason 3 times and/or spend XX amount of days at the dealer. Call a lemon lawyer they'll guide you through. It does not cost you anything.

I don't have an opinion about this qualifying as a buy-back, but the 1-2-3 process spelled out in the back of the owners manual.

I understand different states have different requirements - some more/less lenient than others.

Under lemon law, manufacture pays, if you lose...you owe nothing.

Gm offered to buypack my truck under their vehicle repurchase department. What a joke, they were trying to nickle and dime me and not even follow state law! I negotiated out of good faith and they wouldn't budge. Finally signed the legal documents to let the lawyer loose who had been extremely helpful in guiding me on what to do.

Honestly man, just find a lemon law lawyer. GM is a joke. Last GM I buy after my 6th GM truck in a row.

Any manufacturer will fight to the end of this. My lawyer said we might be able to get money out of them, about 5K. We were moving out of state, the issue was resolved on the 4th visit (a new motor at 600 miles) and it would have just been easier. Of course at that point GM said they didn't want the vehicle on the road, WTF.

Bboyce- what were the criteria for buy back in your experience?

Law in my state is 4 times for same issue or in shop for 30 days. In my case I have 43 days out and 15 shop visits.

I don't want any money out of them but according to law, in a repurchase you get refunded everything you purchased and any products at time of purchase for the truck. Not only were they calculating the usage fee wrong but they were trying to out me in the hook for an extended warranty I bought for the truck. Why the hell do I want to pay for an $800 warranty on their faulty truck that does me not one ounce of good at this time in its life.
