After driving my Silverado for a little over a year now, and having driven a few rental cars inbetween, i have realized that there is one very subtle feature that I love about my truck.

With so many vehicles now using electronic cruise control, and not the old mechanical switch and buttons GM used to have, it is common for the owner to have to turn Cruise Control back on every time the engine turns off. I use my cruise control constantly, and i mean constantly (lowest it will let me set at is 24 MPH, if i could use it at 20, i would). BUT, every time i turn my truck off, and turn it back on, cruise remains on!!! I don't know if this is unique to chevy right now, but ive driven a lot of rentals recently that the cruise needs to be turned back on every time i get in it, and i find myself turning it on and off constantly because i dont remember if its on.

So thank you, GM, for leaving my cruise control on and not turning it off when i didn't ask you to.

I question why there's even on and off. Mine is always on and ready. I don't think there area any disadvantages to leaving it on. Need cruise.. Just hit set...

In the summer it automatically ventilates the cabin when you remote start even if you never left the ac on.

Basically everything thats going to be mentioned in this thread was a nice surprise when I first got my truck. The little things that aren't on the feature lists are very well designed and you can tell they paid a lot of attention to the details.

If they just fired the guy that did the phone connectivity and the guy that did the transmission tuning and throttle mapping, it would be perfect.

My favorite feature by a landslide, that gets talks about a lot in here but not so much by reviews or marketing, is the auto4wd and 4wd as a whole. They f-ing knocked it out of the park with that.

I've wondered about this as well. What is the point of having a CC on/off switch? If you don't want it, don't set it. First world problems,

Ya know, I once had a light bulb go off in my head and figured out why. Ah ha moment. But now I forget. But there is a reason!

I can never use CC here near Boston.. too many erratic speed aholes on the road in front of me. Half the time the middle lane travels faster than the left lane.

If the state of Massachusetts required a road test every 5 years, half the ass hats driving in the state would lose their license.

Actually GM vehicles have done this for years. It started in some of them around 2001.

Eliminates the possibility of accidentally setting.

my 04 pontiac grand am has the steering wheel switch for CC. It stays on all the time too.

To me the most subtle feature I love is the ability to open all 4 windows by holding the unlock button on the fob.

Just being able to let the hot air out of my truck while I'm walking up and loading, or whatever- this allows the AC to start cooling as soon as I get in side, without me having to waste gas and remote start it for 10 minutes in the summer.

side story, I recently had a rental car in Ireland (Scoda Octavia diesel 5 sdp) while on vacation with the wife. I did the windows down trick and she though we had been broken into and robbed! haha. she didn't think that feature was on any other vehicles.

You don't have to wait to get inside to start the AC.

I like the extra sound insulation in the K2. I also like the TPMS with individual tire pressures. I rely on that a lot. I pretty much don't use a tire pressure guage much any more. My wife's load Flex doesn't have individual pressures, just a overall low pressure warning. GM nailed TPMS, IMO.

Pretty common actually. Most even report their correct position without having to be relearned after a rotation. GM hardly nailed it.
