2007 GMC Sierra 2500hd - need help

Hello,

I have a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500hd (new body style, not classic). This is the first truck I have ever owned. I am a female with limited knowledge about tires and wheels. Currently, my truck has tiny 16 inch stock wheels. The truck is not lifted but I plan to level it when I get new wheels/tires. I would like a "beefed up" look without having to make any modifications other than leveling. My primary use for the truck is hauling horses. I have a standard bumper pull trailer and plan to get a gooseneck in the future. What are some appropriate and safe size options? Thanks!

Also, I have a friend selling 20 inch wheels on 35x12.5r20 with a 8x6.5 lug pattern....would this work?

Thanks!!

Welcome! Yes that bolt pattern wheel your friend is selling should work. Just realize a 20" wheel is going to ride rougher then your 16" and maybe by quite a bit. You may not clear the 35" tires with just a level kit though. I'm sure they will rub somewhere. 33" would be a safer bet. If it was my decision I would probably do a 17" wheel.. Maybe 18" most.

I would get a wheel that sticks out from the fender just a little for that tougher looking stance.

I had a 2500 HD that the stock wheels but up level one and I put 285/75/16 Goodyear MT/R mud tires on and it looked tough!!

Good luck and don't hesitate to ask questions! [emoji106]
