F-150 Lariat

Ultimate 2022

Recommended Posts

When shopping for trucks, I honestly didn't even look at Fords (I'm a GM guy). However, a friend of mine just got a new Lariat and wow, there are some features on it that I wish we had! Massive sun roof, push button start, rear vents, etc.

Not sure those would convince me to switch, but sure does look like a solid truck.

I just took a look for myself, not going to lie, it is pretty sweet. I don't like the price tag, although I am not saying that it is not worth that. I am not sure why you can't get a sun roof on any model of truck, seems like there would be enough demand for them.

1. Can't put a deer on the roof if there's a sunroof.

2. If you roll it, that sunroof definitely won't hold up like a regular one.

3. Push button start takes exactly the same amount of effort to crank as a normal ignition, plus you gotta put your foot on the brake and then your keys either stab you in the butt cuz they're on your belt loop still or they take up a cupholder. Never saw the point.

4. The Silverado has rear vents. But regardless the only thing that should go back there is beer, ammunition, and a pair of jumper cables.

This post is 70% in jest, I'm just making my mark as that guy on the truck forum who doesn't fancy.

Switched from a 2014 Sierra SLT vibrator (buyback) to a 2016 F150 Lariat 502a, (both cost within $2k of each other) just a brief list of things the ford beats gm:

- first and foremost, cab size, it really can't be overstated how big the supercrew is rear seat room

- push button start/keyless entry

- LED head/tail, runnings

- twin panel moonroof

- better ride

- 3.5eco vs 5.3 sloth, no comparisson

- 360 camera's

- sync3 vs whatever bullshit that gm crap infotainment garbage is

Friend purchased a Limited. I am not going to lie. Makes our Denali trim level on par with a striped down work truck due to so many missing features. GM is not in the same league when it comes to luxury trucks. The F-150 is very nice but I can't stand the front end of the Ford.

Really sad that the lonely Ford XL has optional features that can't be had on a Denali at any price. Looking forward to seeing the 2019 GM redesign.

How about this wood bumper front end/steps?

I haven't really followed the Ford, but comparing 2 year old vehicles, things do change... For example, the 16' and 17' also have LED headlights and taillights.

The bigger 3.5 eco vs the smaller 2.7 eco.... So should you compare that to the 6.2 vs 5.3 motor instead?

The 6.2 isn't a sloth... Lol

Sometimes it's hard to compare apples to apples when your throwing oranges in the mix.

As masculinity is diminished in the youth of today, trucks have become more car like. Ford sees this and is attempting to draw the new gen of men and the ladies of course. When the truck manufacturers put vanity mirrors on BOTH visors the truck became a little more feminine.

Let's not forget the ass massage seats you can get in the Platinum trim.

I found the same thing when I was looking to purchase. So many more little things that would have been nice to have. Had all but decided on a '17 Lariat until we took it on a second test drive which as lucky would have it would be an extended distance. 14 miles into it and I still couldn't get comfortable in the seat. Came home and did some reading to find out I wasn't alone. Ford dealership spent a week trying to convince me to buy but ultimately I walked away and bought GM.
