Popping noise on 2017 Silverado

FalconX87

Question

Hi everyone. I have a brand new 2017 Silverado Z71 1500 4x4. I had a company install a 3 and 1 leveling kit on the truck so I could eventually goto a bigger tire. It's only 3 weeks in and now the driver side front tire area is marking a popping noise when I make a slight turn. I'm not sure what it is. Someone told me it could be the cv axle. My worry is that it will void my warranty or what not. But it only has 700 miles on it and I'm already having this issue. Could the lift have anything to do with it or could it be something from the factory?

If the noise wasn't there prior to the lift, then I'd bet $$$ on the lift. If that's the case, I'd take it back to whoever did the lift and have them find and fix it. If you take it to the dealer and it's determined that the lift caused the problem, then you're on the hook for the repair cost.

That's between you and the shop that did the install. Take the truck back to them and tell them what's going on and that the noise started after the lift was installed. If they're a reputable shop, they'll look into the problem and should fix it if it was an issue with the install (as mentioned in the reply on your other post about this problem).

Try removing skid plate or tighten up the four bolts. silly but that was my issue. it drove me batty four several months. haha. I thought it was lube, ball joints, pitman, steering. nope all wrong, if you removed the skid plate, tighten up the bolts and forget it. might also put a little grease between the skid plate and chassis.
