2006 GMC Yukon xl Denali hard start after hot soak

Recommended Posts

I am trying to fix my Yukon with no luck. It started out will several different issues, such as no power, limp mode and hard start. I've replaced the fuel pump, plugs, plug wires, throttle body and bank 2 O2 sensor. I am down to the hard start after hot soak. I have not checked the fuel pressure bleed off since the replacement of the fuel pump. I am thinking the injectors are bleeding off and flooding the engine. Once I get it cranked it runs very rough for about 30 secs. Any thoughts of other possible solutions I could look at?

Try this: turn key on, but do not attempt to start. Turn key off, wait a couple of seconds, turn key back on and attempt to start.

This procedure will allow the pressure to build up if in fact it is bleeding off from the fuel pump or an injector.

A bad purge valve will cause hard starting, but its usually immediately after refueling.
