Apple CarPlay still work after Onstar expires

New owner of a 2017 2500HD 6.6L Duramax. New options galore and trying to explore them.

 

Question is - I'm assuming that CarPlay will still continue to function after trial Onstar expires? They are trying to convince me to subscribe (navigation and music), but I prefer my own tunes through my iPhone, and Apple Maps (ok, prefer Google Maps, but...)

 

So - still works after Onstar trial expires?

CarPlay and OnStar have absolutely nothing to do with one another.

CarPlay is a feature that is built in to the head unit, it has nothing to do with Onstar and there is no subscription for CarPlay

Android auto and carplay work regardless of OnStar service
