Ford's newest addition to its broad line of police vehicles is the iconic F-150. What took them so long? In addition to the largest interior of any pursuit-rated police vehicle it offers, the F-150 can handle speeds up to 100 MPH and has more off-road capability than any car-based police vehicle.

The new F-150 FX4-based Police vehicle comes with the 375 hp and 470 lb-ft 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine and Ford SelectShift 10-speed transmission, plus four-wheel drive.

“Ford’s 2018 F-150 Police Responder is the perfect all-terrain law enforcement vehicle,” said Stephen Tyler, Ford’s police brand marketing manager. “Aside from its industry-first on-road pursuit capability, this purpose-built pickup can comfortably seat five, while providing capability in off-road patrol situations for officers in rural environments patrolled by sheriff’s departments, border patrol operations and the Department of Natural Resources.”

It will sell well because the government and state agencies that use work trucks up fitted for service can now just go get an F150 out of the box that is pursuit rated.

Before we moved our old neighbor was a dedicated Ford guy. Bought new F-150's and had a good standing with the local Ford dealer. Told me the dealer was getting EcoBoost's that were throwing rods. :happysad:
