2002 2500HD runs hot when AC is on

My father in laws 2002 Silverado 2500HD 6.0 gasser 4x4 runs hot when the ac is on. only to 3/4 mark on gauge and sometimes stalls when in drive. (im guessing to protect the engine as a failsafe) let the truck cool down and left AC off and drove home 40-45 minutes and didnt run hot again. he drove it to town and around town for a little bit with ac off never got over half on the gauge. no check engine light or codes when we hook the reader up. any of yall had this issue??

maybe check how clean the cooling stack is (the radiators). They made be partially plugged, and the extra heat from the A/C radiator (in front of the coolant radiator) might be enough to put it over the edge?
