Is this still worth anything?

Recommended Posts

I have my OEM black color matched rear bumper, but has small ding in it. Could possibly be fixed, but I wondered if its worth selling this way or just scrap it? Figured I would get a general consensus to post it or not.

Got pictures to show the "small ding"? Small ding to one person might be totally acceptable to some people and others will consider it junk.

Yeah should have posted it when I asked the question.239b7651c8b63120f8c5e15e8c5076ad.jpg

Ive seen color matched bumpers on CL similar to yours, with small dings like that for around $200-$300.

You never know unless you post it and try to sell it. Doesn't cost anything to post it on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist. With Ebay you don't pay any fee until it's sold. The only bad thing is that the ding is probably in the worst spot, on an edge. It would be worth trying to get out but I think it would still need filler to completely make it go away and then repaint. I'm no body man or anything so I don't know, just what I think would have to be done to completely fix it.

You could also just keep it if you decide to sell the truck and then put the bumper back on and then sell the bumper you had on it since it seems like you replaced it with an HD bumper. I'd rather sell a used HD bumper than a used factory bumper with a ding in it.

I figured I would just post it on craigslist for $150 and see if i get any takers. Its to much trouble to worry about swapping back when I get rid of the truck. I already replaced and sold front bumper but it didnt have anything wrong with it. Just didnt want to go through all the phones call if its not worth it. Ypu have to go through a lot of bs to find the one or two serious people on craigslist, lol.

Me personally, I wouldn't pay more than $50 for a dented bumper. It'll take quite a bit of massaging to get it straight, plus another $200 or so for paint.

$200+$50+body work to get it straightened = Not for me.

Just my .02

That's probably why the listings I've seen are still there. [emoji51]

We will see, I posted it in a big city near me so maybe some one will think its worth it. If not doesnt much matter I will just chunk it in the scrap bin at work.

You should be able to sell it for the $150 that you're asking on CL. Post it in the for sale section here also. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/forum/14-for-salewanted/

While its not show quality, it would sure work for someone that needs a bumper and has limited funds.

Slap a bumper sticker over that area and good to go. Lots of good ones out there. If someone gets up on you close enough to see the dent then they can probably read this one.

Lol, maybe I should order that bumper sticker and make it a package deal. I posted on craigslist late yesterday and have gotten a couple phone calls already, so we will see where it goes.
