2017 Yukon Denali. Occasionally starts running rough - feels like a misfire. When it happens sometimes (not always) I get steady CEL or flashing CEL but then it "cures" itself. Actually occurred at dealer during oil change but they weren't able to determine cause. Took it back and left it with dealer for 2 days and got it back with "could not duplicate, runs as it should"...and no codes. Is it possible to have a CEL (steady of flashing) without leaving a code behind? Thanks.

Over this year Mine has stalled twice. Occasionally, more lately, is stutters and gets rough at a stop light. But never a light. I have been told at deaaler they do get a rough spot sometimes but it is a characteristic of this engine...? I now have 43K on my 2015 Denali and am going to have the valves looked at for deposits which is an issue on Direct inj engines.

No. An SES light will have a code.

I only have 2300 miles on the Yukon Denali so far. When mine misfires it does the stutter and chugging and just overall rough running But I don't always get a light but when I do sometimes it's a steady light and sometimes it's a flashing light. And the misfiring stops after a period of driving time and if there was a CEL, it turns off. As I mentioned I left it with the dealer for 2 days - they said they drove it but could not duplicate. Also said there were no codes - I find that hard to believe since it was misfiring the day before i took it in and I never cleared any codes. I'm not ready to accept that this is a characteristic of the engine.

There have been guys with a loose spark plug wire that isnt snapped on completely. That would cause your issue. That is an easy check for you to just pull and push all the wires make sure the are seated on both sides, the spark plug and the coil.
