In a just-released comparison done by Pickuptrucks.com, the Chevy Colorado ZR2 has beaten the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro. This win was not an easy win for the Colorado. The Tacoma actually won more categories than did the ZR2. The Tacoma was judged to have the better Powertrain, better Acceleration, better Interior, and was judged the better Value. In the Dirt and Sand Running test and in the Off-Road Technology Category the trucks tied.

The Colorado for its part beat the Tacoma in the Suspension, Brakes, and Rock-Crawling categories. Despite the Tacoma winning more categories, Pickuptrucks.com judged the Colorado ZR2 the overall winner based on a points system. Interestingly, the diesel engine option the Colorado had in the test vehicle seemed to hold back the ZR2, hurting it in both the value and acceleration categories.

Fans have been going a bit crazy with the comments under the story and on social media. Frankly, the commentary is more interesting than the comparison. Be sure to weigh in and make your voice heard!
