New 45 acp carbine

I've been waiting for a good quality 45 acp to hit the market for decades. There have been a number of them over the decades. I've bought some of them. The last one was another blowback gun. Not too bad, but it lacked a decent trigger.

 

This new gun from Flint River Armory is a gas piston operated, rotating bolt semi-auto, somewhat similar in design to an AR-15. It shares the same trigger group and grips. After that, I can't think of any other parts that interchange. But it disassembles like a AR. There have been other AR based 45s, but I believe they were all blowback, from what I can gather.

 

I'm really thrilled with this little gun. I haven't shot it yet because I need to raise the red dot DeltaPoint Pro about 3/4" higher. The new mount showed up today. Should be a fun plinker and good home defense gun.
