Was looking to put a Flowmaster Super 10 muffler on my '17 Sierra 5.3l, just wondering if anyone else has done this and how they liked it? Also if you ordered the 2.5" inlet?

I think Luster on here is running a Flowmaster 10 series and claims it actually isn't all that bad.

This is his video:

He says family and friends won't ride in his rig - pretty loud..........

:driving:

I run the super 44 and its the best of both worlds. Nice and loud and throaty but not too annoying and can still hold a conversation in the truck. LOL

And you'll want the 3 inch. That's what size our exhaust is.

I've got the super 10 on mine, it's louder than stock but not too loud. I had them tack the valve open and remove the resonator also. I have a youtube video attached on one of the other exhaust threads, can't seem to find it right now. You can hear how it sounds from a cold start, truck sitting over night.

  • 2 weeks later...

if you have the option with the shop have them test it with the resonator in and then with out. I have the 44 but found it to be annoying in the cab so i put the resonator back in. Its better than stock but in hindsight i should have got a quieter muffler for my particular tastes

I second this... i am running whats in my sig. and its loud enough to be heard at wot by said family member. But quiet enough that i cant hear it in cab hardly any depending on driving style .. no drone/very minor. cutting the rest of the tail pipe off over axle changed it some..

Our exhaust is 2.75" btw.

I know on the 17 the flapper you have to weld or cut off my 16 i just ran a bolt in between the 2 pieces and never fallen out shockingly..
