Doug Rosewood
Has anybody had to use their factory warranty for body issues? I noticed I have a chip missing from the bottom edge of my tailgate where it appears to be painted over by the factory. Im not really sure If I should take it in or live with it. The dealer I purchased from does not have a body shop but the other local dealer does.
gearheadesw
If it bugs you, take it in to the body shop and ask, can't hurt. All they can say is no.
Doug Rosewood
I'm just kind of curious if anybody else has noticed anything like this. It appears that the chip happened pre paint, then slipped through quality control
20Denali22
I'd live with it. Painting after the factory is always urethane paint and not water base. It'll never match in color or texture. Trust me, I've been dealing with this on my wife's car... Dealer has painted it 3 times and still not right!!
4wdriver
My good friend is a body shop manager and says he repairs body damage on in coming new cars from time to time or new cars damaged on the lot. Your truck may not have left the factory with that paint problem.

20Denali22
The body shop I deal with uses water base paint exclusively. I should have stated "most". I have been corrected. I just have had a horrible experience that now has attorneys involved. I wish I would have taken it elsewhere
2017SierraSLT
A friend had his 2016 Siren red Silverado backed into. The body colored bumper was replaced, and the fender repaired. The local dealer's body shop matched the color, and texture perfectly. You can't tell where the damage was.
