BlackHawkZ71
Ok so this is a first for me, my 2016 5.3 has roughly 17k on her. (I am the owner since mile 78) but remote started the truck while waiting to clock out (this morning) noticed my ac was blowing hotter then it should anyway got gas left truck running as normal no change in ac temp at all.. started the trip home. Decided to check the compressor and it wasnt spinning. Only the pulley Took my trusty temp gun to confirm what i was feeling Outside temp-79* Ac status-LO (been set that way forever now) or generally 58* Temp gun reading-87 Heater works very good... and was a lot hotter then temp gun. Edit gonna start the truck up after i rest and see what happens
LongrangeLauber
If the compressor isn't engaged that means there's usually low or no freon. You're probably like the rest of us and have a bad condenser unfortunately. They are on national backorder for as long as 6 weeks from what I've heard Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Spurshot
You're running the A/C when it's 79°F? lol I leave my ac on auto all year long. Usually it's set around 70-74f. I'm positive it runs the compressor whenever the sun is out and it's above about 68f. I think a lot of people run their vehicles with the windows up all the time. Must be a southern California thing, if you had to endure Winter you would truly enjoy Summer. It's been in the high 90s here lately and I still haven't turned my A/C on got my windows down & loving every minute of it. Heat, sweat, bring it all on. Donstar
I once lived in a region where we described the seasons as snow, mud and bugs. I drove for a couple of decades when air conditioning was not a common option. The temperature for me was less of a concern than driving with the windows open. I often drive with a family member who is highly allergic to bee stings and would have my truck in for service the same day my air conditioner failed! BlackHawkZ71
Well got my truck back dropped it off Wednesday, anyway its not what everyone thought, the compressor locked up. And they replaced a valve for the compressor but nothing about the condenser? So i am not sure if my 16 has the fix already
BowtieFever17
Is this common? I have a 14 and about mid summer it quit blowing cold, needless to say it was low on Freon. I didn't have to touch my 11 at all.
