Thinking of making a trade

Recommended Posts

I just found a 2015 GMC Sierra 6.2 NHT for roughly 39k. I currently have a 2014 Sierra 6.2 non NHT that blue book says is worth roughly 35k. I paid 38k for mine in January 2016, financed for 74 months. I think when all said and done my payments wouldn't go up, and I could probably finance at 72 months this time. My truck has 15 more miles on it, no warranty. The 15 is certified 1 year 12k miles warranty plus 2 year gm maintenance plan.

My truck is white, it has its positives and negatives. The 15 is stone blue metallic which is an awesome color. Both have black interiors, which I hate, but whatever... I'm thinking the extra payload of the NHT would be useful, I've probably been overweight countless times.

I have a '15 NHT and I'm surprised just how softly the rear is sprung. It has way more bounce than my 2011 non NHT. Not saying it's less capable but I wouldn't upgrade solely on the NHT part. Unless you need the lower gearing. Regardless it's a great truck.

I guess the color difference is what is motivating you the most. There are many aftermarket accessories you can buy (helper springs, air-bags, LT tires etc.) to help you with load issues. I speak from past experience when I recommend that you do not increase your debt to buy essentially the same truck. The thrill of your new truck will pass quicker than the increased debt.
