2015 W/T Upgrades

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I have a 2015 Silverado 2500 W/T with the 6.0. I've got 60k miles on the truck and do plenty of towing, so I've been considering lately an upgrade to a more plush diesel pickup. However - new diesels are awfully expensive, and I want my next truck to last me 10 years; I'm not sold on the long-term reliability of the new diesels and I know the 6.0 in my current truck is bulletproof.

So with that said, I am considering some ways to improve the comfortability of my current truck instead of buying a new one.

Can I upgrade my tiny little center-stack screen (IO3 rpo code) to the large 8" MyLink touch screen?

Can I add bluetooth to the truck?

Any way to get steering wheel controls?

Those are the big items I'm interested in, however if there are any other feasible upgrades to the W/T trim level, please let me know!

Thanks!

A good Stereo shop can get to most of these, just depends on cost.

Why not just move up into a newer 6.0 with a higher trim package?

It's not out of the realm of possibility. However, I purchased this one new for just under $33k, with the 'Convenience' package - power windows/locks, remote entry, heated mirrors, backup camera. A cursory search shows its going to be hard to get close to that again!

Damn, I specked a 2018 W/T 3500 gas and it is just under 50k OTD.

35k for a crew 2016 w/t 4x4 here, msrp was just under 44. Honestly I would have gotten a half ton but they weren't any freaking cheaper so I figured what the heck. If my financial circumstances stay good and I want a new truck one day I might get one, but if not this one will do everything I could ever ask of it. I love the WT, this is my second one. I can't understand why they don't sell more of them.

I'm right there with you, the only thing I really miss on a daily basis, is the steering wheel radio controls. Mine has satellite delete, I would like have that again, but streaming is unreliable, and the piggy back stuff sounds like hell. Got mine for $31k, can't see that happing again.

Just started a thread on a similar topic, would like to upgrade my 2015 Silverado 2500HD with the following:

- LCD color displayed instrument cluster

- Steering wheel controls

- Tailgate Backup Camera

If anyone has info on how to successfully do this, please let me know! Would be greatly appreciated.
