What leveling kit and why?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what leveling kit you guys are running? And when you install one, do you do just the keys, or do you have to get extended shocks too? Just wondering what's all involved and what brands to stay away from?

Keys are pointless, just crank the torsion bolts and get a allingment, if it rides rough add shock extenders, if it still rides rough add upper control arms, if you care about CV angles add front diff drop spacers.

^^^ What he said.

What upper control arms do you guys reccomend?

Brand doesn't seem to matter, it appears all aftermarket upper control arms are overbuild, the question you should be asking is what replacement ball joints do we recommend to go with the replacement upper control arms and that answer is Spicer.

Alright so what brands do I really have to choose from as far as control arms for a "leveling kit" height? All I can really find is cheapo blue ysr performance ones and expensive cognito ones...

If you only want to level just tighten up the keys you already have. 1.5" will make a difference. You won't need shock extenders either. Just tighten each key the same amount, try out the truck and then get an alignment if you're happy. Inexpensive and easy.

All good man haha. It is 21 mm for sure and the old buckets were 18 mm. Socket is still on the impact from the evening priors escapades. Wheel alignment now once I get some real rims and tires on it.

P.S........ and they are ordered and should be on there way tomorrow lol. The internet makes things far too easy.
