Range afm disabler

Recommended Posts

I was doing some research if you put the truck in manual mode gear 5 the truck wont go into v4 mode. My question is would i be doing any damage longterm by running consistently in manual mode? Or is my better choice the range afm disabler? Truck is a 2017 5.3 with 6 speed.

You wont be using the overdrive gear on the highway. I was getting 20-21 mpg running 85 mph along with traffic on the highway with V4 off (hypertech). Try your fuel mileage test with...2016 5.3 with 6 speed. I only have 12,000 miles on it so far

No damage. It would be like running a stick shift in 5 gear. Will reduce MPG.

Where are you located?

Flat or hilly terrain?

Range would be useful on flat terrain to keep out of V4 in 6 gear.

Hilly terrain it would probably not use 6th gear a lot.
