Question
kper
Just dropped off my 2016 3500 at the dealer for the dreaded steering gearbox issue. In 3 days I am towing a 15k pound 5th wheel 4000 miles and was hoping for a new gearbox so I wouldn't have to worry about the problem recurring during my trip. I've heard many complain they received the simple locktite and adjustment treatment only to have the problem come back within 1000 miles. How can I get the dealer to just give me a box and be done with it? My trip is limited on both ends and a 1 or 2 day delay en route would be a severe burden. Is this even possible? They say they have never had return customers but have never seen one leaking, either.
Thank.
