2014 Silverado door sag

I have a 2014 Silverado 1500 CCSB High Country with 122,000 miles, and the last couple days I have noticed that my drivers door has about a 3/16" - 5/16" "sag" to it. I noticed it after getting out and closing the door it didn't latch completely. It still closes but with a little extra force, but im the type of guy that knows it will only get worse and want to fix the issue now before any major damage occurs. Grabbing the door when it is almost closed and pulling up and down on the door I cant feel any slop or looseness like a loose bolt or worn out hinges. Looking at it I don't see if the holes are slotted for adjustment or not. Curious if anyone has had an issue like this or if anyone can chime in and recommend a fix. I would prefer not to take it to a dealership or body shop if at all possible.

Do you grab the door and put all your weight on it getting in/out of your vehicle? Curious if that may have anything to do with it over time.

No I don't put any weight on it getting in and out. I open the door, step out, turn around and shut with the exterior door handle.

Wow that is severe. It didn't just get like that overnight. This is the first time you have noticed it?

yes this weekend is the first time noticing it. Im sure its been over time but its just got to the point where its hitting the latch enough to notice it

It should just be either new door pins. Or door pin bushing. I haven't looked at mine. But it's usually an easy fix.

Door bushings

That's what my initial thought was. couldn't you feel some slop if it was though?

A reputable body shop would probably fix this on the spot for free or a nominal cost. At the very least, they will tell you exactly what you need.

Thanks Donstar! I took it to a place down the street from my work. They said everything looked and felt tight, so they used a special tool to realign the door and is like new. Didn't charge me and took less than 5 minutes. Also getting a quote from them to fix and repaint my front and rear bumpers due to small dent on the front and rear and rock chips on the front.

You're welcome! I'm glad it worked out for you and possibly the body shop.

For sure. Im glad there are still places that will help you out like that. For that reason alone they have won my future business, and I've seen their work and its always looked great.

Hooray for nice people!!! Wonder what caused the sag, and if it will come back? Did you get to see how they "raised" the door back to level alignment?

Im curious how it happened also, hopefully it doesn't come back. they had a almost homemade looking tool that pretty much was a pry bar that kept the door about 6" open and fit into the door latch and the latch on the pickup. its hard to explain haha
