Interesting tire problem and fix -not too bad

I was washing my 2015 Denali CC a couple of weeks ago and noticed that the DS front had some dry rot near the bead -could put a small screwdriver blade in it.

I looked at the others and they all had the same thing starting.

They are the Bridgestone Dueler A/T RH-S P285/45R22 tires that came from the factory and had 22,500 miles on them.

I called Bridgestone and they have a 4 year Ozone Warranty that covers them, but prorated for miles -they said to just go to a Firestone Store or distributor.

They had about 8/32" tread depth, so for a set of four new tires, mounted and balanced, it cost me $525.00 including tax, for tires that are on Tire Rack for $271.00 ea., plus shipping, plus tax, plus mounting and balancing, but Bridgestone sells for $266.00 ea., plus mount, balance, tax etc. -so the cost would have been between $1,200.00 -$1,300.00.

I am glad that they covered this problem, but disappointed that the tires had the problem -what's everyone else think?
